How we did it:
The light display is built using special computer controllers that allow each individual string of lights to be turned on or off via a computer running special software. The controllers and software we use to control the lights come from a company called Light-o-Rama.
We use the software to program each song. We tell the computer when to turn on, off, fade, twinkle and shimmer each light down to a 10th of a second. This process usually takes about four to eight hours per song.
We use a small radio transmitter to broadcast the music over the FM radio waves (107.3 FM). The transmitter is from Ramsey and has a range of about 300-500 yards.
Add this with the lights and some long weekends setting things up and you have Plano Christmas. Enjoy!
